Shri. R.K. Sinha has been conferred upon with an Honorary Doctorate by the Mahatma Gandhi Central University, Motihari (Bihar), for his significant contribution in the field of journalism, social service, and employment generation. The Doctorate Degree was conferred on him by the Hon'ble President of India, Mrs. Draupadi Murmu on 19th October 2023

Dr. Ravindra Kishore Sinha, graduated in Political Science from Anugrah Narayan College, Patna He began his career as a correspondent in 'Hindustan Samachar'. He was a war correspondent during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971, and proved to be a highly successful investigative journalist. He took an active part in the student movement led by Loknayak Jai Prakash Narayan in 1974-75 and went on to write the book "Jan Andolan" based on his experience.

His early association and personal contact with Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaji, the then General Secretary of the Bhartiya Jan Sangh was an inspiring experience for him.

Dr. R. K. Sinha, fondly known as RK, in his social circles and security industry fraternity, is a man of many hues. A first-generation entrepreneur, Mr. Sinha started Security & Intelligence Services (India) Limited from a rented garage as office space in the eastern part of India (Patna, Bihar) in 1974. Today, SIS Group is recognised as a leader in security and business support services in the Asia Pacific Region with over 2,80,000 permanent employees. By 2023, SIS has grown to 17,603 corporate customers and a business volume in excess of USD 1.36 billion (INR 11364 cores for year ending March 2023).

Dr.Sinha, has crossed the globe on lecture tours and to attend professional conferences and seminars: U.S.A., U.K,Canada, Trinidad and Tobago, Japan, Scotland, Ireland, Germany, Australia, the Netherlands, Italy, France, Switzerland, Mauritius, Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Thailand, Burma, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Turkey and the Middle- East. He has held important positions in many international security institutions and written many books related to the security industry.
In the Indian government, he held positions as the Security Advisor to the Prime Minister, related with security arrangements of CSIR establishments. He was very much involved in the Ministry of Human Resource

Development, Ministry of Science and Technology, and Ministry of Maritime Development, Government of India during the National Democratic Alliance regime for the period from 1999 to 2004. During this period,he played an important role in overseeing security related to seven ministries and more than 50 sensitive national research laboratories. He had close association with Sri Atal Bihari Bajpayee, and also with Lal Krishna Adbvani and Murli Manohar Joshi in the present.

Dr. Sinha is a philanthropist. Shri Sinha established 'The Indian Public School' in Dehradun in 2001. The school is excellent in the field of academics, sports, art & culture. He is also the president of several social and welfare organizations.

In February 2014, Dr Ravindra Kishore Sinha was elected (unopposed) as a Member of Parliament to the RajyaSabha. During his term as MP, Dr. Sinha did many public service works. As a former MP, Dr. R.K. Sinha continues to contribute in every field through social work.

Dr. Sinha has established the 'Awsar Trust' educational institution where arrangements are made for free coaching, accommodation and reading material for the preparation of IIT-JEE for the financially backward students of the society. Many students have benefitted from this institute by been successful in getting admission in IIT.
He is also a writer of distinction with 20 publicationsto his credit. His writings give an insight to his readers, about the legendary political activists and security matters related to industry and private security.

Dr. Ravindra Kishore Sinha, in every sense of the word, is not only known as a writer, social thinker, security advisor, but as a philanthropist par excellence. Above all, his personal self is committed to the welfare of the society that looks to him for inspiration. His benevolence, in turn, helps people of the less privileged sections of the society to fulfill their aspirations. His philanthropic nature and his commitment towards the society is indeed exemplary.
