The mandate of the Academy is to impart professional Induction training to newly recruited State Forest Officers (ACF) and Forest Range Officers (FRO), and offers short-term In-service training courses to the State Forest Service Officers of DCF, ACF, FRO, and Deputy FRO ranks deputed from various States.

The Academy also conducts short term awareness and appreciation courses for Stakeholders & other departmental personnel (Education, Revenue, Rural Dept., etc.) on subjects like Forestry, Wildlife & Biodiversity & Environment
