The one-month student training program started on 01.07.2023 at ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil and water conservation, Research Center-Vasad, Anand, Gujarat in which 11 B. Tech. (Agricultural Engineering) students from BRSM CAET & RS, MUNGELI, CHHATTISGARH under Indira Gandhi Krishi Vivavidyalaya, Raipur, Chhattisgarh, and 14 students from College of Technology and Engineering, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur, Rajasthan. The students underwent different types of field exposure for a better understanding of soil and water conservation measures installed at the research farm. The student also learned about the working of different types of instruments used for monitoring runoff and soil losses from the runoff plots and watersheds.

The students also were given a special lecture on environment and biodiversity and also participated and planted trees at the research farm. The students get acquainted with the different types of skills i.e. surveying and leveling, design of soil and water conservation measures, and drainage line treatments required for preparing a watershed management plan for a detailed project report. The students also visited the watershed for better learning and field exposure. All the students successfully completed the one-month training program. The program ended with final words about the training program from the head of the center Dr. M. J. Kaledhonkar, Dr. A.K. Singh, Principal Scientist (SWCE), Dr. D. Dinesh, Senior Scientist (Soil Science), Dr. Dinesh Jinger, Scientist (Agronomy). The feedback of the students was also taken for further improvement in the training program. The training program was coordinated by Dr. Gaurav Singh, Scientist (LWME), and was supervised by Shri Ram Pratap, Technician.
