On 16/12/2023, Swachta Pakhwada was inaugurated by taking an oath at the institute headquarter and its 8 research centers ICAR-Indian Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation (ICAR-IISWC), Dehradun.

Dr. M. Madhu, Director of the institute, while addressing all the employees, officers and scientists emphasized that every small issues ranging from cleanliness of the institute to taking care of houses, streets, roads and public places have importance in everybody' life. Explaining the importance of internal purity, he advised the practice of yoga and physical activities. He made a reference on the ill-effects of single use plastic and the need for their management through compost making at household level using household wastes and effective plastic management.

Dr. Charan Singh, Head of the Department (HRD&SS Division) highlighted the need for cleanliness and expressed his views on maintaining ambience clean. Er. S.S. Srimali, Dr. Ramanjeet Singh, Dr. Uday Mandal, all the administrative officers, technical officers, employees and contractual employees graced the occasion. The programme was coordinated by Shri. Anil Kumar Chauhan, Nodal officer of Swachh Bharath Mission of the Institute.
