The 78th Independence Day was celebrated at ICAR – IISWC, RC – Vasad on 15th August 2024. Dr. M.J. Kaledhonkar, Head of the Centre, hoisted the National Flag at the main office at 09:00 AM and addressed the staff present. Thereafter, at the farm office, at 10:00 AM, the National Flag was hoisted by the former Head of the Centre, Dr. A.K. Singh, Principal Scientist (Engineering), who is going to retire from the Council service in the near future. Sweets were distributed to all the staff and trainee students of the Centre present at the function. Dr. A.K. Singh, Principal Scientist (Engineering), Dr. D. Dinesh, Senior Scientist (Soil Science) and Dr. Dinesh Jinger, Scientist (Agronomy) expressed their views on the present progress and challenges of the country. Selected staff of the Centre were given certificates and mementos for their significant contribution in the progress of the Centre. Thereafter, the Head of the Centre expressed his views on Independence Day. All the officers, staff and trainee students of the Centre were present at the flag hoisting function and participated in this national function with great joy.
