Environment Day at the Main Office on 5th June 2023. A total of 70 persons comprising of 20 farmers, 15 B-Tech. (Agri. Engg.) and staff members present on this occasion. Hon’ble Director of the institute Dr M.Madhu graced the occasion as Chief Guest. In his remarks stressed on small efforts at individual level, various aspects of soil and water conservation practices so as to be eye opener / role model for others in conservation of inherited resources and to protect it on sustained basis.

Dr Hombe Gowda H.C. Actg Head highlighted on importance agro-forestry approach for higher production and increased income .Speaking on this occasion Dr P.Raja, Pr.Scientist explained about way of maintaining soil health for increased production without disturbing the ecosystem. Addressing the gathering, Dr Ch. J. Dash, Sr. Scientist emphasize management strategies of water conservation and its efficient utilization in climate change scenario. On this occasion Director has released the Monograph of the NABARD sponsored International workshop on “Climate Proofing of Watershed Development Projects with special reference to Soil and water Conservation Technologies” held at Ooty during 2-3 May 2022. The programme is coordinated by Dr S.K.Samal, Scientist. Sh. G.B.Naik, ACTO proposed vote of thanks. The programme concluded with National Anthem.
