One day training on “Processing of Seasonal Fruits and Vegetables” for rural women was organized on 11th January, 2023 at Salga village, Solan, H.P. by ICAR- Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Research Centre, Chandigarh. The women technical staff of the centre coordinated the programme namely Mrs. Nirmala Sarhadi, Mrs. Jatinder Kaur and Mrs. Shalini Sharma. Dr.Ram Prasad (Pr Scientist) accompanied and enlightened the women about preservation techniques to conclude the event.The objective of training was to fulfill the gap in knowledge perceived by rural women in processing and preservation of fruits and secondly to promote entrepreneurship among the women. On the occasion the women actively participated in the event and exchanged their views on how they can use the process and make use of it to the most. The training was attended by 30 participants including 19 women.
