ICAR-IISWC organized a Kisan Goshthi and Field Day at Village Koti Mechak, Raipur block, Dehradun under Farmer FIRST Project on 21st Dec. 2022. The programme was also graced by Sh. Gajendra Kumar, Chief Marketing Manager, KRIBHCO, Uttarakhand, Dr. C. M. S. Negi, Project Officer, TDC, Uttarakhand and Sh Rajesh Kumar, KVIC, Dehradun. On the occasion Dr. Bankey Bihari apprised the audience about various initiatives and successful models demonstrated under the project and also motivated the farmers to take benefits of the programme. Er. S S Shrimali made the audience aware about various engineering interventions in the project areas. Sh. Gajendra Kumar, Chief Marketing Manager, KRIBHCO apprised about soil sampling techniques and importance of micro nutrients to maintain the soil fertility in very simple manner. He also displayed and briefed about KRIBHCO app which can be used by the farmers to get the first hand information about KRIBHCO and its activities.

Dr. C. M. S. Negi briefed about the seed production techniques and asked them to switch over from grain production to seed production to accrue maximum benefits. Sh. Rajesh Kumar from KVIC explained in detail about various entrepreneurship development trainings which are useful for farmers to earn their livelihood. The progressive farmers namely Sh. Padam Singh, Ex-Gram Pradhan, village Paw wala Soda, and Sh. Shubash Kothari from village Talai also shared their experiences about project works and express thanks and gratitude to the project team. About 100 farmers including farm women from various adopted villages like Koti Mechak, Jhibrani, Siriyo etc participated in the programme and got benefitted with the knowledge given by the experts. The Kisan Goshthi was coordinated by Dr. Indu Rawat, Sr. Scientist. Dr. Matbar Singh Rana, Sr Scientist, Dr. Abhimanyu Jhajharia, Scientist, Er. C S Tiwari, CTO, Sh. K R Joshi, ACTO and Sh Anil Malik, SRF also contributed in successful organization of the programme.
