ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil & Water Conservation (IISWC), RC- Vasad organizes different event to celebrated two yearlong commemoration of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi which concludes on 2nd October 2020. During the week long celebrations, various activities were also organized. On 28/09/2020, in one of SCSP village: Navagaon Vanta, farmers were given practical field demonstration of leaf colour chart (LCC) in rice crop for correct usage of Nitrogen fertilizer. As support to village farmers to encourage Agri-Horti system, distribution of tree guard was done to protect various horticulture tree crops in the field bunds. This activity was coordinated by Dr. R.A. Jat, Scientist (Agronomy) & Dr. Dinesh Jinger, Scientist (Agronomy). Other activities like A Group discussion was organized on topic “Relevance of Gandhian principles in Today’s world” on 28/10/2020, Main office and campus cleaning drive on 30/09/2020 and Essay competition on topic “भारत में ग्रामीण जीवन - भूत से भविष्य की ओर” on 01/10/2020 was organized. The program was ended with valedictory function in which Dr. R.A. Jat, I/c Head & Sr. Scientist (Agro.) addresses the staff and award certificates to the winners of debate competition. Dr. Gaurav Singh, Scientist (LWME) describes the importance of Gandhian principles in present time. The programme was successfully coordinated by Dr. D. Dinesh, Scientist (Soil Science) and Ankit Sukhwal (Technician). The programme was ended with formal vote of thanks by Dr. D. Dinesh.
