ICAR-IISWC, Research Centre, Udhagamandalam celebrated the 150th Birth Anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. As a part of the weeklong celebration an online essay competition entitled “Gandhian principles in today's context" was held for the school students of 6th to 9th standard. Around 60 students from various schools at Udhagamandalam participated in this online essay competition. On October 2nd during the 150th Birth Anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi all the Scientists, Technical Officers and Staff of the Centre offered floral tribute to the Father of the Nation. During the occasion Dr. K. Kannan, Head i/c, addressed the gathering and elaborated on the Gandhian principles. Dr. S. Manivannan, Principal Scientist spoke about the applicability of Gandhian Principles in today’s context. The winners of the competition were invited and felicitated at the function. Dr. V. Kasthuri Thilagam, Nodal Officer (Swachha Bharat Ahiyan) organized the function and proposed vote of thanks at the end.
