Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Chairperson, PPV& FRA, Former Secretary, Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE) and Former Director General, Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi visited the ICAR-IISWC, Research Center, Vasad on 22 March 2024. Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra was welcomed by the Head of the Centre Dr. M.J. Kaledhonkar and other staff members. On the occasion of World Water Day he addressed the farmers to use precision agriculture technologies for efficient use of water and application of drone for direct seedling plantation in ravine area for enhancing land productivity. During farm campus visit he has visited all the on-going and concluded research projects at Research Centre - Vasad. He has given his valuable suggestions for further improvement in research aspects. He also critically suggested to the concern scientist for future action of the research output. He expressed the satisfactory remarks on the research facility and overall maintenance of research farm of the Centre and appreciated the efforts made by Vasad team. He also planted a lemon plant in horticulture block of research farm. Moreover, Dr. Manish Das, Director, ICAR-Directorate of Medicinal and Aromatic Plant Research, Boriavi, Anand also shared his thoughts on enhancing WUE through micro-irrigation and integration of medicinal plants in cropping system.
