A one day training-cum- awareness programme on “Soil Health Management” under project Establishment of Biotech-KISAN Hub for Aspirational Districts of Eastern Plateau and Hills, and Western Hills was conducted on 25-01-2021 at Janiguda villages in Mastiput GP of Koraput. The programme was conducted with active participation of about 80 farmers from the Janiguda village. The farmers were first welcomed by Sh. Jaganath Khilla and Jignsa Barik, YPs-II of the project. Dr Kartik Lenka Scientis, MSSRF briefed about the project.

Dr. D. C. Sahoo coordinated the project, briefed about the project objectives and different activities to be taken up under the project, discussed with the farmers about the interventions. Sh. Jeeva interacted with SHG members about their group activities, discussed about mushroom cultivation. Dr.  D. C. Sahoo explained about preparation of compost for soil health improvement, nutri garden and soil conservation measures to be taken up in the project. Mr. B.K. Barik AO, Mr. Anurag Mishra from Mishra Agri-tech, were present in the programme and extended their support for implementation of their schemes through the project in the convergence mode. The state department officials briefed about their schemes which can be implemented for the farmers. At the end of the day, farmers expressed their satisfaction over the programme and assured to actively follow and cooperate in the project.
